Remnants of a found Russian silent movie ‘Heart’ were cut and pasted together again into various collages. Then they were under photographic enlarger printed on 16mm negative. Therefore the spectator can observe places usually hidden to him: film perforation, space between frames, tape marks and key codes on the film-strip margin, all of which defiles/marches past in the picture according to the graphic-score defined rhythm.

The theme/topic of the original film, the human physiognomy was transferred into the physiognomy of film. Film testifies about itself, its inner principles and material basics/foundations. It is divided theme by theme in short footage into 5 parts: start, manipulated countdown of the beginning; vertical motion, shifting the space between frames; negative v. positive; film perforation; flicker effect. The film was made in three different versions. The frame rate is 24, 16 and 12 fps, the speed of music is changing accordingly. A silent version of the film also exists.
